GREENHOUSE--The greenhouse will consist of 3 sections, and be wheelchair accessible. Each section will have an assortment of one of the following: flowers, vegetables, cacti and non-flowering plants. Veterans will be able to go inside, look around, and be able to purchase the plants at a fraction of a competing nursery.
BAIT SHOP & STORE--The small convenience store and bait shop will be combined and offer a variety of snacks and bait. The bait shop will also have a place to rent guns and fishing poles. Please fill out the survey so we will have an idea of what you prefer to have in the store.
HUNTING--The animals that will be hunted are deer, squirrel, turkey, rabbit, pheasant, and quail. The animals will only be hunted during the right seasons, and have designated areas for hunting each animal. Stands in the trees and on the ground for wheelchairs will be available. There will be clear paths so that wheelchairs can easily go through the woods. For the bows and guns, we will have attachments for wheelchairs, the blind, and other disabled veterans so they can hunt safely.
CAMPING--Three forms of campsites will be available: cabins, campsites, and RV sites. The cabins and campsites will have electric and water. Some cabins will be made especially for wheelchairs. The RV sites will have water, electric, and sewage hookups. They will all have cooking pits for the families to cook outside if they want.
THE LAKE--The lake is 40 acres. We will section parts of the lake off. There will be a swimming area, a fishing area, a boat area, and an area for ducks and geese so people can feed them.
FISHING--There will be a floating dock with a rail, and also a rail to prevent wheelchairs from falling into the lake. The rule right now is catch and release. We will take pictures for free of those who catch big fish.
BOATS--We will have electric flat bottomed boats and paddle boats. None of the boats will be gas powered because they will pollute the water.
HIKING/RIDING--We already have trails for hiking and horse riding. There will be rest stops along the trail with water facilities. Unfortunately, we cannot allow people to bring their own horse.
MINI GOLF--We will have a 36 hole, all natural course. It will include sand traps, water traps, bridges, rough green, and natural green. The course will be wheelchair accessible.
RECREATIONAL VEHICLES--We are sorry to say that we cannot allow anyone to bring their own recreational vehicles because of insurance purposes and the risk of property damage.
DOGS--We will only allow seeing-eye dogs because there are few places that regular dogs can go. There is a possibility that we may allow small dogs. We ask that you call ahead of time for it to be approved.
MEETING HALL--We will build a big hall for gatherings. That way big groups and organizations may gather at the retreat to hold parties or meetings. There will be a special rate for groups. The only thing we ask is that you reserve the hall in advance.
